I’m Dr. Peter Theron.
I’m running for Congress to correct the course of our country.
Since its founding America has depended on electing the right people.
But, there are three problems with right-person campaigns.
First, we elect the wrong person.
Second, we get complacent.
And third, we endure a time lag. The course corrections promised today will not happen until January. This campaign style from the previous millennium recalls the Popeye cartoon character, J. Wellington Wimpy. He would “gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today.” So, a candidate, promising to gladly course correct on a Tuesday in January for a hamburger of support today, is running a Wimpy campaign.
